Performer/teacher Esther Snelder and I have been awarded a fellowship at the Academy for Theatre and Dance for “Perceiving Counterforce”: an interdisciplinary research project between mime and dance that investigates the perception and ambiguity of counterforce through word, image and movement. Through studio-based research and interviews, the duo will investigate the performative concept of “counterforce” and develop curriculum by means of an essay/booklet and workshop.
We will conduct this research from August 2022-August 2023.
